It took a while for me to decipher View A-A on DWG 73 but with the help of the VAF forums I managed to get my head around the less than clear diagram. Beware that one of the dimensions (the vertical distance between the AN4 bolts) is listed as 7/8" but this may be incorrect! The revised dimension for this according to the forum builders is 1- 23/32". I have emailed Van's looking for confirmation of this. That will be a critical distance when it comes time to install the vertical stabilizer spar to the fuselage so triple check it! As for match drilling the tail wheel spring mount keeper rivets, it was a pretty simple procedure involving careful measuring, marking and clamping. Then I machine countersunk the keeper rivet holes, disassembled, deburred and finished up by dimple countersinking the remaining (10) #30 holes in the bulkhead assembly.
