Sean was over today to help rivet the landing gear boxes together and install them onto the forward floor assembly. Here are some things we learned during this step. 1) Don't use a red sharpie marker on the steel powder coated parts. I can't find a solvent strong enough to remove the ink and leave the paint unharmed. 2) Don't rivet the middle platenut onto the throttle quadrant before installing it onto the left hand gear box. It interferes with the middle rivet. 3) Use AN3-5A bolts to install the mid cabin braces to the WD-813-1 weldment / gear box instead of the AN3-6A's called for in the plan. They are too long and the nut runs out of thread before contacting the weldment. 4) There is a slight interference between the washers and a weld joint at the bottom of WD-822-1. I needed to notch the washers to get around this. Otherwise, they turned out great and it was a very productive day in the shop. Thanks Sean.
