Brief Description:  Fuel cap flange (again) and vent clip.

I decided I didn't like my fuel cap flange. It wasn't perfectly centered in the hole on the left hand tank skin. So, I stole the one for the right hand tank and clamped then drilled it into position. This one came out centered. Not sure if I will order another flange for the right hand tank or not. I countersunk the flange and then dimpled the rivet holes in the skin. I bent the fuel vent retaining clip around the shank of a 1/4" drill bit and then drilled a #40 hole in the end. It will be installed sharing one of the rivets that will hold the flange to the inside of the skin. I spent about an hour researching and preparing for the next step which is to back rivet the stiffeners, tank drain and flange. I put together a list of things to do for the tank sealant process as well as some notes on the subject. I'm considering using the 'Faying' method. This is done by applying a thin layer of sealant to the edge of the ribs then putting in a cleco in every rivet hole (ribs to skins). Then you leave it to set for a day or two then 'wet setting' rivets in place. We'll see.
