Brief Description:  Landing gear and wheels installation - Part 2.

Sean was over today to help remove the main gear so I could replace a temporary washer with the proper hardened steel washer that I somehow managed to lose. I also primed the gear attachment brackets. We torqued everything up to proper specs and left a space between the outboard brackets and the outboard wear plates. I spoke to one of the engineers at Grove Landing gear about the required space. He told me that it doesn't matter what the space is, as long as there is one. The idea is that the outboard brackets should not be flush with the wear plates. It may not be apparent from Image 3 but with a flashlight positioned behind the brackets I could clearly see there is a space between the brackets and wear plate. We got the required 20 foot/pounds of torque on all but one of the NAS nuts on the outboard brackets. We got the last one to 17.5 foot/pounds and stopped because going any farther would close the gap. I will need to research this to find out what if anything I need to do with that.
