I didn't like my first attempt at the C-661 canopy slide block. The problem was I didn't get the bolt hole straight through and its misalignment deformed the block a bit when installed. It still worked fine but it bothered me. The second attempt is much better. I decided not to use a cotter pin as detailed in DWG 44 but instead used .032 lock wire to secure the clevis pin in place. The plans show a cotter pin pushed in and held in place by friction only.
