Brief Description: Installed tank support brackets.
I worked on marking and drilling the F-863 tank support brackets. I used a heavy hammer to make the slight bend in the mounting tabs to lay flat against the fuselage when bolted. I could only back drill the lower of the two holes from the inside of the cockpit. The upper holes were partially blocked and I couldn't even get to them with my angle drill. I will wait until the wings come off again to get at those. I drilled the bolt hole through T-405 and F-863 on the right side with a 1/8" bit and will final drill it to 1/4" tomorrow. I realized I made an error with one of the dimensions of the left hand F-863 bracket when I fabricated it over a month ago which leaves me with inadequate edge distance on the upper mounting hole. I will buy some aluminum channel and make that one over again. Oh well, its a minor setback.
