I decided to recess the instrument panel about 3/4" inward to give a lip arount the entire instrument panel. I cut one long 3/4" angled aluminum piece into (1) 5" piece - bottom, (4) 4" pieces for the sides and (2) 3" pieces for the top. I drilled 2 holes (9/64" bit) equal distant apart on each piece and used No. 8 tap (Craftsman) on each hole so that they would take machine screws. I then used 5/32" drill for the holes in the pod (slightly bigger than the machine screws)
Next step is to drill holes for the nut plates (one per piece) and rivet each one to the aluminum pieces.
