Brief Description:  Build left rear spar

Started the day by reviewing the plans again and feeling pretty good about the correctness of the right spar. Started and finished the left spar today. Filed edges, debured, match drill, mill hole as before, primed stiffiners, riveted all pieces together. All went well except the one step about dimpling the edge of the spar where to stiffiners go to the fuselage. The double plate at that end make it very difficult to dimple later. I had previously modified the 'c'frame of the pnematic dimpler for close work but even that was not going to do it. I had to drill out two rivets along the edge because the heads were in the way. I have not had to drill out much so far so I guess today was my day.

Side note for the one or two people that may look at this ongoing project. I use undersize drills for removing rivets, #31 for 1/8" and #42 for the 3/32" rivets. These bits are .004" undersize to the original sizes. Four thousands is not much but it gives a small cushion for error if you don't hit the exact center of the rivet.

So rear spars are done. Next ribs.... oh boy!!
