Brief Description:  Landing light hole

I mounted the leading edge to the spar in anticipation of riveting it all together and realized that I needed to install the landing light kit. These are the Duckworth kits I got from Vans. I got two, one for each wing. So you take the brand new leading edge that was lovingly assembled as close to perfection as possible and cut a large gaping hole in the front edge. Am I reading the directions correctly? Is the templet in the right spot? What if I screw up? How am I going to get it to look even side to side? Do I really need a landing light at all?

As you can see I made the cut and was able to form the hole so that it looks really good. I bit of work but not quite as scary as it looked to start. Also notice the green covering. My flying buddy, George Guerin gave me a roll of the same type of covering that Vans uses. This came from Delta airlines left over from their restoration of the DC-3. Just cut to the rough shape and peel and stick. Works great! Thanks, George!
