Brief Description:  Finish Vertical Stabilizer

Prep new rear spar for the vertical stabilizer. Dimple spar, countersink doubler like the instructions say (or should say). In Vans defence, the plans had it depicted correctly, I was not looking at the blueprints correctly. Match drill the new spar in place. Dimple the spar, ribs, skin. Coleco together and rivet. Inspect and DONE!! George Guerin came over and inspected the parts so far.

Sometimes people wonder how we end up like this. Airplane in the basement kind of thing. Well I've been flying seriously for the last 12 years or so. Cessnas got me where I wanted to go. If you have the time you can take one anywhere. George Guerin is my flying buddy. We have taken many trips together, Flordia, Illinois, South Carolina. So George says "I'm going to Sun N Fun, why don't we fly down?" Build my own airplane? Yea, I've thought about it but maybe some day. So we fly down and stay with a couple of his buddys, Dave Ross and Bill Shank who have built or are building RV's. I got to sit in Dave's RV8, hang out at Vans tent, and went to Vans dinner. I met Richard VanGrunsven himself, and Tom Green. Bill Shank, the luckiest man alive, won a Vans toolbox kit as a doorprize. Since he already had one (maybe two), he gave it to me. After I put it together I was hooked!

So that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Gotta blame somebody......
