Brief Description:  Trim rudder lower cap

I started working on the fiberglass parts for the tail feathers. The first part looks like the hardest, so let’s begin with that one. The rudder lower cap has to be cut around the control bar. The cap had what looked like score marks to help guide the cut around the bar. So… cut there first. Slowly worked my way larger and larger to sneak up on the correct fit. I got it looking pretty good without a lot of work. I was surprised how easy the fiberglass sanded. Once I got it to fit I realized the whole thing was too tall and needed to be cut down to fit into the rudder metal. This necessitated removing 1/8” off the entire bottom edge. A loose hacksaw blade carefully cut that little bit off. Careful work got the fit very nice with the minimum of time. Not bad!
