Brief Description: Canopy bonding to the stiffener.
A big step bonding the canopy glass to the stiffener! The canopy was fit to the stiffener and the excess plexiglass was removed leaving only about an inch for the actual bonding surface with the carbon stiffener. The protective covering on the canopy was peeled back and electrical tape was added to within 1/8" of the stiffener to protect the plexiglass during bonding.
Holes were drilled through the stiffener and large area washers were used with blocks of wood to hold the canopy against the stiffener during bonding. Additionally, clamps and shot bags were added as needed to ensure a good squeeze out of the hysol.
