The horizontal tail was trial fit several times in order to trim the joggle in the vertical tail enough to get a good tight fit and allow the horizontal to rest in the jig's ribs. We measured the ends of the horizontal with a water level to ensure proper alignment with the fuselage. Once all was aligned and level, the horizontal was floxed in place and the vertical bulkhead was floxed between it and the verical rib. A micro radius was applied all the way around both sides of the vertical tail where the horizontal passed through. Shot bags were used to hold the assembly in place until cured.
Vertical bulkhead inside the vertical tail installed on top of horizontal tail.
Micro radius applied to the vertical seam.
Shot bags hold the horizontal in place during bonding.
