Brief Description: Elevator counterweight installation.
The elevator counterweights were trimmed, shaped and floxed into place in each elevator. Bulkheads were formed from a piece of 1/4" prepreg and installed 1/2" aft of the counterweights to provide a space to install more weight if required after the completed elevators are balanced. Once floxed in place, a 2 BID carbon layup was layed into the space between the weight and bulkhead. This carbon layup structurally reinforced the area to withstand additional weight.
