Brief Description:  Passenger Door

Today, I worked on some door latch related items for the passenger door. First, I continued filing to make the delrin move through the frame easily. That took some time. You're filing through the frame and the connecting tube on the inside. When I had it completed, I countersunk the holes in the square tube, then riveted them in place on the horizontal cross piece per the manual. I quickly realized none of my riveting tools would fit in the tight spaces. So, I put some small washers over the rivet and my gun grabbed the remaining mandrel and pulled it tight. Still, I had to do some filing on the top of the countersunk rivets to make the delrin slide smoothly. I also final riveted the door hinges in place with 3/16 inch rivets. Next, I cut the squre hole in the upright frame aft of the door for the delrin to latch the door in place. I drilled it out with a #40 drill and carefully held onto the center so it didn't fall into the frame. Finally, I fit the angles around the plexiglass window and drilled them in place.
