Brief Description:  Floor

Today, I pulled all the parts for the forward floor and the brake/rudder pedal assemblies. I spent most of my time cutting the floor panel to fit, as well as drilling througnh the stainless steel firewall into the forward flange of the panel. I also laid out and cut the holes for the rudder pedal cable assemblies.

Two problems. As you can see in the photo, I match drilled all the holes through the outer shear webs into the floor panel. In hindsight, you are only supposed to drill the four nearest the firewall and the one at the aft end. That allows you to drill the holes for the delrin attach blocks as necessary. There should be a note when building the shear webs not to drill all the holes per the plans -- in the end it appears it won't make a difference, just another irritant in the plans.

Second, the Cross over tubes that slide into the rudder pedal assemblies don't fit. It appears to be the paint/powder coating that is prohibiting the fit, as I have another unfinished tube and it slides in without any problem. I'll look more at it later today.

Finally, I'm still undecided what to do reference the crossover brake system. There have been problems associated with it in the past and many have not used it. Another separate set of bakes from Matco are onlyu $103 each, so I may go in that direction.
