Brief Description:  Left Wing Vortex Generators and Misc

I made a decision to go ahead and attach my VGs prior to painting the wing. So, today I made a template and then glued them on. I adjusted the template so the high point of the VG (arrow shaped) was approximately 10% of the overall chord. In addition, I spaced the first 15 (3 ft) of VGs from the wing tip at 2 3/8", then the rest at 3 9/16". This was to delay the wing tip from stalling too early. I used a 3M adhesive from NAPA -- designed to glue on hood emblems. It worked much like a super glue. I taped my template in place, used a cut down acid brush to put a generous coat of adhesive on the bottom of the VG, then simply slid it in the slot in the template. I moved it around a bit and then let it rest in place. They appear to have bonded very well.

Then I worked to align the hinges once more -- there was one I was not happy with and did some re-shimmning.

I also cleco'd the skin onto the left wing flap and will rivet it during my next work session. I also mixed up a small batch of body filler and took care of a few problem areas I had near the wing tip. I let it dry, then sanded and coated with primer. I used a 3M product from NAPA -- appeared to be the lightest weight.
