Brief Description:  Flaps

Today, I reassembled the flap, completed dimpling, then spent a couple of hours riveting the skin to the flap framework. As a note, the SR Manual doesn't say when to rivet the skin on for the final time. The Moose 2007 manual says to rivet it on prior to the final fitting on the wing. So -- complete except for the #6 rib, which gets fitted on the airplane.

This afternoon, my wife helped to move the wing back on to the table. I cut a 2 1/4" hole in the same relative position on the upper side of the third fuel bay as the filler cap in the fourth bay. I then scuffed/cleaned the mating seam between the two front spar lower flanges. The spar doubler only overlapped the first four inches into the third bay, making it easy to reach from the new hole (it was directly underneath). In reality, I had done a good job of sealing it earlier, but for some reason I missed the one in the fourth bay. I went ahead and mixed up some Type A2 (more liquid type) proseal and used a large animal hypodermic with a plastic tube to guide it into place. Then, I used an acid brush fixed to a long wooden dowel to assure good coverage. I have the wing tilted forward, to keep the liquid proseal in place while it cures.

I still have one more seam where the doubler ends on the upper/inner side of the spar in the fourth bay and 4 inches into the 3rd bay. I'll can easily access this through the new hole I cut in the third bay, and will reach in from the lower access cover in the fourth bay. I'll probably use regular proseal for this seam.
