Today, a friend, Bill Peper, rode along to the hangar to help with weighing. I borrowed the scales from EAA Chapter 32, a nice set of digital race car scales to weigh it. We used a desk to level the tail, and rolled it onto the scales. It came out at 1649 lbs. Wow -- I was surprised. That was as good as I could hope for -- at least 100 less than a friends. I was very careful to not add anything beyond the plans and the couple mods the factory recommended. I did add Cessna 180 boots to the horizontal stab, but they didn't weigh much. After, we pushed it outside the hangar and did a photo shoot. See pictures below. I still need to add the decal to the fuselage sides -- a set of wings that say Folkerts Aircraft Works.
