Today, we were disappointed to find the hinges on the rudder did not line up with the vertical fin. When we attached the fin, we evidently pulled the lower part in just a bit. Consequently, we had to remove the cleco's from the lower wing skin and other parts and then work to install a shim under the lower hinge. When complete, we were almost there, but not quite. Consequently, we decided to loosen the skin at the top of the vertical fin to reach the bolts necessary to add a shim to the upper hinge as well. Finally, after a whole days work, the rudder matched nicely with the fin.
