Brief Description:  Instrument Panel-holes

Saw several different panels in the Makelan CD and the forum. I reasoned that the person in front most often will be a non-pilot passenger and would not need much in the way of instrumentation. ON the occasion where a pilot is in the front heading and altitude would be enough. So only two holes in the panel. One for airspeed, one for altitude with a compass mounted on the dash behind the windscreen. To make the holes I used a fly cutter (not my favorite tool) that I adjusted to slightly less than 3 1/8"/ I clamped the panel down securly and got to thinking about all the work I put into the door panel and now didn't want to wreck the thing by screwing up the hole drilling. Very tenderly I lowered the fly cutter on to the work piece until the point began to scribe the circle for the instrument hole. Light but steady pressure and shortly the hole was opened. I test fit an instrument and the hole was too small. I planned that. Then I used a flap wheel to open the hole up to finishe size. I took a little extra out to compensate for paint finish.
