Now the final step is to rivet the flange onto the panel. I waited on this as the flange is .025" T3 and it was easier to work on the panel as a flat piece rather than having the flange stick out. I used 1/8" rivets every inch. One rivet per tab on the flange. Lots of countersinking and figuring out alignments but it all came out fine. I used the tab method because T3 is tempered and does not shrink or stretch very good. Another possibility would be to use angle brackets every few inches but I wanted to try this method out. What I found was the drilling has to come last in order to fle and bend the flange to conform to the shape of the cowling.
