Met with my SAAA tech counselor Rob Chopin today at his shop. Rob is a qualified LAME and also an RV-8 builder. Very lucky to have this tremendous resource in the local area. We spent the better part of the day going over building methods and using my new tools on the already started practice kit control surface. Covered a great amount of info in a relatively short time and the learning curve was steep. There was definitely improvement from the first rivet to the last. All the practice kit is complete minus one "small" part. Was not able to get to rolling the leading edge but discussed techniques to do that. Will give that a try in the next day or two.
