Brief Description:  Preparing aluminium trailing edges in the aileron

Today I cut the trailing edge (TE) aluminium to go onto the stub ribs in the aileron cove. This is needed to give the fabric something to fold over. Straightened the area where the fold-over front edge touches the rib (done with pliers covered in tape). Seems to fit nicely. These were made in two parts (I wanted one length for each aileron cove but shipping of the aluminium from the US was extremely expensive in 5ft lengths so got it sent over in 2 and 3 ft lengths at a fraction of the cost!). The taper towards the wing tip meant that I had to snip the underside of the aluminium at the second last rib stub to allow the aluminium to curve nicely to toward the tip. Turned out really well.
Had to add a doubler to one of the rib stubs so that I could join the aluminium TE.
