Brief Description:  Fuel and Brake Pipes 1

The manual gives a good hint to do the fuel and brakes BEFORE fitting the F-820 Forward Side Skin., I can only say it would be outrageously difficult to do them AFTER!

The flaring tool is vital as aviation fittings require a 37 degree flare, wheras the automobile uses 45 degrees.

TOP TIP - add a label to the tool that says "NUT AND SLEEVE" it will help stop you making a flare without them fitted - trust me I know!

For the wing pipe from the fuel valve selector I used some acetate sheet with holes copied from the skin for a reference on the longerons and cut a slit in the wing exit hole. Post Note. I have since used AN832-6D's and will add a photo in Fuel and Brake Pipes 2 or 3.

The finished article is a bit of spaghetti but I wanted to ensure I have good acces to remove the gascolator bowl easily. To torque all these up with the skin on I'm going to have to make/modify a 9/16" spanner.

Pressure test all the fittings BEFORE you install them - it will save you a lot of hassle later when you fill them with fluid - DON'T ASK!
