As an ex-Air Force pilot I wanted to have fancy stick! The infinity stick grip seems to fit the bill and I like the fact that you have to drill the stick to secure it - no chance of it slipping off!
I sat in the plane with my seat for the first time (a great lift in itself) and placed my hand on the stick in a relaxed manner and was slightly suprised to see how much angle my arm was pointed in (nearly 45 degrees). I marked the stick and drilled the two holes at 90 degrees to the angle off.
I tried to fit the grip without the aft slot (didn't read the instructions properly!) and funny old thing it wouldn't close up. Cut the slot, removed the powder coat and thin primed and fine it closed up.
Elected to drill my exit hole at an angle to spread the stress ie not all fore and aft.
