Brief Description:  Canopy Skirt 4 - Epoxy for skirt to canopy bond

As I decided not to drill the canopy to reduce the chance of a stressor crack I needed to find a good bond between the canopy and the skirt. I found that 3M Sotch-Weld 2216 B/A was an aerospace quality adhesive and this was approved by the Light Aircraft Association during my modification approval process.

I made a test peice of a canopy/skirt off cut.

I used the same process for the actual skirt which was:

* Remove any possible mould release from inside of skirt with standard thinners and a green scotchbrite pad dried with a paper towel.
* Clean canopy with Isopropyl alcohol
* Scuff canopy with maroon sotchbrite and clean off dust
* Mix epoxy as directed plus small amount of black epoxy die
* Brush epoxy onto both surfaces and contact the two parts

The test peice appears to be amazingly strong so with the Sikaflex and the Scotchweld I don't think may canopy is going anywhere and not a hole drilled.

The working time of the adhesive is 90 minutes so there is no rush.
