Brief Description:  Throttle Bracket

The other problem with the cold air induction sump and the IO-360 Throttle/Mixture Kit is that the throttle bracket (VA-173):
a) Does not fit with both sump mounting holes
b) Even if it did it would not be aligned with the throttle arm

However, the cold air sump mounting is laterally in a good position but it is too far forward.

After an aborted atempt with one method and another Homer DOH! moment I came up with the far simpler solution. I used some scrap 1/8" angle and driled two holes for the sump mounting (used the VA-173 as a bushing on the drill press for the 1/4" holes). The aft two holes utilise the VA-173 and the fore/aft location was determined by the bulkhead thread on the throttle cable. I also bent the vertical tab of the VA-173 to be 90 degrees to the 1/8" aluminium lug.

The solution worked out great (the silver sleeve you can see is heat reflective sleeve to protect the outer plastic of the control cable from the exhaust). I used 2 x drilled headed 1/4"-20 (AN74-A4) bolts for the sump (wire locked) - the aft two bolts are AN4-5A with all metal striffnuts.
