The flight from Insiheer to Sligo was uneventful apart from some turbulence due to the edge of the high pressure influence. Sligo used to have commercial airlines but sadly is now a sleepy hollow but has very friendly and helpful staff. Booking.Com was the order of the day for the hotel and it came up trumps with The Glasshouse. Based on the river and in a central location this was a delightful modern hotel with friendly staff.
A walk round the town revealed Foleys bar and off licence - to me the stereotyped Irish bar and in the offy was The Pogues Irish Wiskey - as Irish as Irish can be.
A vist to Trip Advisor said our hotel was as good as any local restaruant so we booked a table. Great decision - I had one of the best starters of my life - Salmon Roulade - my only mistake was not taking a photo. A lovely meal ensued and it was time for the next leg.
