We had a special day in London on 18th May as we met up with Pete and Ann Chilcott for lunch in Knightsbridge. Pete is the 3Rs Aviation Secretary and it was his 60th birthday. Also in the group were Roger and Dom (Kings Cup Winners) and Rogers wife Chloe.
We stayed in the RAF Club - first time since our honemoon 30 years ago! Where did all that time go? Thanks to Nick Lambe (Pembrokeshire Flying Club member and ex-RAF Pilot) for booking us in as a guest.
It was a great honour to receive the Jubilee Cup formally from HRH Prince Andrew and I also managed to catch up with Sir John and Lady Allison after the formal event. Sir John set up the RAF Aerobatic Club in 1981 where I flew a CAP 10B and occasionally throughout my RAF career I would meet him and he never forgot my name, even whren he became Chief of the Air Staff! Great man.
