I crossed the line second on the Saturday race behind Derryn and Claire but was disqualified for being inside the course by about 10 metres on the same turn on two laps. That is the sort of margins you need to be flying to in order to challenge for wins. Bit annoyed I cut it too fine as second would have gained me a lot of points, particulalry as some of the title challengers were not present at Popham. Important thing though is to learn from your mistake ......
Like Lewis Hamiltons win at Monaco on Sunday kicking off his title defence mine too was kicked off winning the historic Society of British Aircraft Constructors (SBAC) Challenge Trophy which was first raced for in 1927 - the year bfeore my dad was born! It is an honour to be part of that history.
