At the Pembrokeshire Flying Club Dinner earlier in the year new PPL holder Gary Carter won a 30 minute flight in JBTR and I offered to him instead of a local flight how about a flight to Birr in Eire? As you would guess he snapped my hand off and I took him trhough the paperwork process of flying abroad and hope that this has given him the trigger to fly his first international flight to Ireland in the not too distant future.
In 40 years of flying I had a first on initial contact with Birr Radio " Welcome to Birr join for Runway 36 left hand pattern QNH 1025 and how do you like your eggs!"
