Now that I have a holder for the canopy, I placed the frame into the canopy for positioning. I found a place where the frame seemed to fit well. I drilled the hole through the canopy for the latch to fit through. I then clamped the frame to the canopy in order to measure it for cutting. I measured the sides to cut away excess plastic. I measured a 3/4 " offset from the back edge of the frame to cut the back of the canopy. After drawing the lines, I cut away canopy with the carburudum disk provided by Van's in an electic high speed die grinder. The plastic cut like butter. After cutting, I filled the edges with a flat vixen file. The vixen file cuts the plastic fast to remove all the cutting marks. It also leaves a nice flat finish. I removed the sharp edges with a mill file.
I also measured, marked and cut the windscreen away from the canopy.
