Returned to the step installation. Drilled holes in the plate as described in the installation documents. I chose not to cut the aft end of the plate because it wasn't clear to me where to cut this to make it flush with the skin. Instead, I bent the aft bottom corner to conform to the shape of the fuselage. I figured I could fill the gap with filler prior to painting. I drilled all holes through the skins for mounting. Also prepared the inside blocks for attachment to the fuselage. Not shown is the bolt that passed through the block and the back end of the step torsion tube
