Brief Description:  Shop preparation - table drawers

I use drawers to hold all my hardware and small parts. I've built the drawers with two or three length wise dividers, depending on the depth of the drawer. These dividers have grooves cut in them to further divide the drawers into sections for small parts. Each type of part is contained in a small, resealable plastic bag with a 1" x 3" label in the bag. The label clearly marks to contents of the bag. The bags are ordered in the drawers in categories such as machine screws, flat head wood screws, nails, etc. The center bank of drawers is reserved for aircraft hardware. As I get kits, I inventory them and create bags with labels for each part type. This way I know exactly where the parts are and if I have remaining parts, such as rivets, I have only one bag with the specific rivet type and size. This has worked very well. I bought 4 mil bags from RoyalBags.com which are really nice to use and come in a lot of sizes. I use 6 mil bags for things like nails and drywall screws.
