The first thing I did was create a drawing using CAD to outline the hole I needed to cut in the cowl secitions. I wanted the hole to be as small as possible, yet provide enough size for a screw in both the top and bottom halves. I made the cutout symetrical about the seam. I positioned it front and rear so that it would be directly over the hinge pin tab. I then cutout the drawing and used paper cement to attach it to the cowl. I then used a dremel tool to make the cuts and grind the fiberglass to size.
