Brief Description: Drilled holes to mount right wing tip
In order to drill holes in the wing tip side of the hinges, I first drilled properly spaced holes in the edge of the wing tip so that they would center on the tip side hinge. I matched the hole spacing with the wing tip edge. I attached the tip to the wing with tape using .030 spacers mounted to the edge. I then worked on the top edge, starting from the front of the tip working aft. I taped the first shim in place and then used sand papar between the wing edge and the wing tip edge to widen the gap to .030. I added additional shims along the edge until done. I then coupled the hinge edges together with the hinge pin using small pieces of rubber to take all play out of the hinge halves. I retaped the tip to the wing with the full hinges in place I then started at the forward edge of the wing tip and dirlled holes through the hinges, clecoing each one as I went along. I could then remove the hinge pins to remove the wing tip from the wing.
