Brief Description: Re Work Rudder Skins near Counterweight
Drilled out Rudder Tip Fairing rivets and removed fairing.
Next I removed bolts holding Rudder counter weight.
I want to re shape the bends around counter weight where Rudder Tip Fairing attaches for a nicer fit. It looked pretty poor.
Using a plastic hammer and a block of wood I was able to bend and shape the edges the way I wanted them to look.
Now the holes for the counter weights don't match, which I knew they wouldn't. So I clamped everything into place then drilled 3 more holes between the counter weight holes and made clearance in the counter weight for the rivets.
Had to re drill and dimple the counter weight holes to ensure a good fit.
Checked Rudder Tip Fairing for proper fit. Looks Good!
Riveted the 3 new holes with CS4-4 Blind Rivets then re attached the Counter weight bolts.
Riveted the Tip Fairing back on and everything looks really nice.
