I wanted to finish off the map box, so made the 4 x angle pieces which attach the map box to the inside rib, cleaned up the edges on the map box, made the door and then deoxidined and alodined all the parts. Primed the parts and then painted the inside of the map box with the same color I painted the interior. Once all the parts were dry I riveted the box together, measured where the cut was to be made in the sub panel, cut this hole out to the dimensions in the plans. Using 1/8" drill bits I placed these as spacers for my 4 x angle pieces between the box and the angles so I can put in 1/8" thick adhesive foam along the angles to cushion the map box, drilled and riveted in place. Started to rivet the rest of the panel ribs together. I used flush rivets on my box door and when the time comes I may fill these over so you can't see the rivets
