Brief Description:  Top Skin

I am having a 10" skyview glass cockpit instrument, and to help with the cooling, so I cut 2 rectangular holes in the top, 6" x 3" with tapered corners. After cleaning up the edges I drilled holes on the edges of these holes, dimpled and will rivet on some mesh (type used on screen doors) underneath these holes. I primed underneath the top skin, and primed the top as well where the front screen will cover the dash. Once it dried I sprayed flat black onto the top of the top skin/dash.
The front roll bar had a slight twist in it and it did not sit flush and square, so using a heating oxy torch I had to un twist the bar so it sat flat and square. Of course the heat tip destoyed the paintwork on the roll bar, so I dipped the bar in my hot caustic soda tank overnight. This removed all the paint, with a quick steam clean the bar came back to bare metal. Cleanup and prime ready to paint with the two pack interior grey color.
Painted the bar, had a run on one section, so wait until it dry's and repaint, bolt back in place for the final time. Also painted underneath the dash to keep with the same color scheme as my interior.
Very happy with the result.
