Brief Description: Installed wing skin doubler on left wing bottom
Completed Vans service bulletin 14-11-03 RV-12 wing skin/spar flange rivet wear on bottom of left wing. Removed the 20 designated rivets per the instructions. Installed W-1201A per instructions in the service bulletin. – primed outside of wing skins and underside of W-1201A prior to installation. BSPQ-5-4 5/32 pop rivets stems are above the manufactured head same as experienced on the right wing. Tried to install both with hand rivet puller and pneumatic puller with exactly the same result. Utilized a Dremel motor tool with flat stone to grind down steel stems until near flush with the manufactured heads of the rivets and until fingers could be smoothly run over the rivet line with catching no edges. Did the same then for the right wing rivets that had been previously installed.
