Brief Description:  Throttle and cables assembly

The support of the manifold axle that links the left and right throttle control sticks in my kit was different from that shown in the icp manual and it took some time to figure out the meaning of it. Basically the two arms that support the cables to the right and left carburators has been moved closer to the arm connected to the pilot control stick. It also means that the SL096 is different and new rivet holes has to be drilled. More important, this makes better room for the airbox to be attached later.
Other than that, the manual gave good instructions and the two accelerator cables and the choke cable was easy to install. After safety wiring I tested the function and tried to move the cables pushing the pilot and copilot control sick in and out. Apparently, the cable to the right carburator is very long and bent which create a lot of friction and the control stick was very hard to move even with the friction knob removed. However, this could be circumvented by filling the entire cables with oil resulting in a comfortable level of friction. Also, I removed the rubber ring in the friction knob and replaced it with two halves cut from the polyamid tubes used to sample the dynamic pressure (on both the pilot and copilot side). Much smoother movements. Despite the different lenghts of the left and right throttle cables the two controlled carburators need to work synchronised. Tme will tell if this is possible.
Very important to assure that the accelerator cables are secured to the throttle valves as the starting position of the valve is full throttle!!
