Brief Description:  Avionics Bay

Avionics Tray:

The Avionics tray has been made up from aluminium channels forming a rigid tray and is located on the LHS under the bootcowl. The attachment lugs are welded to the main frame of the aircraft.

The avionics tray carries the following equipment:
- Garmin GPS 20A (WAAS GPS Position Source for the remote mounted GTX 23 ES;
- Garmin GEA 24 EIS Interface to provide engine data to the G3X unit; and
- Garmin GSU 25 AHRS/Air Data Sensor Unit to interface with the magnetometer, the outside temperature probe and the G3X display.

A special angled support (sub-platform) needed to be made from aluminium to allow the GSU 25 unit to properly align with the longitudinal and the lateral axis of the aircraft. The GMU22 magnetometer will be remotely mounted in one of the wing tips.

The strobe lighting power supply and control system will be mounted behind the cargo bay on a seperate subframe to ensure that there is no interference with the above avionics units.
