The next step included the removal of the original flat filter housing and installation of the James Aircraft intake duct.
To achieve an accurate alignment of the filter housing with the air intake, a jig was made up to position the air intake relative to the filter housing. This allowed the trimming of the intake duct and provided the rigidity for the fibreglass lay-up and subsequent shaping of the nosebowl.
