Brief Description:  Fitting fluid lines

The fuel lines had arrived from Rotax while I was at Oshkosh, so I could now fit these - having transported the fuselage back to the garage. It was a toss-up whether to go straight to the airfield or back home. Home won, as I thought I had a week or two of work to do.

Pictures 1 and 2 are just more paintwork shots. You can see the painter did not get the registration centred horizontally or vertically between the lines :-( Also note, I thought it was too tough to repaint the rollover bar at this late stage.

Picture 3 shows the fuel lines converging at the banjo bolt. It was easy enough to replace the terminals at the carbs with the replacements. And having spent lots of money on a new fuel pump with hoses attached, the requisite hose just plugged straight in.

Fuel lines done, so it was onto the oil lines. These are only just long enough, and it is a real hassle routing these by the most direct route possible between the oil tank and the oil cooler. Lines seem to pass awfully close to exhaust downpipes and the muffler.

I could not fit the oil line into the block below the fuel pump as I was missing an Imperial to Metric adapter, which I had overlooked - I guess supplied on a "Vans" engine.. 3/4-16 UNF to M14x1.5. Ordered from Rotax, with a month lead time. Also ordered from Earls, who subsequently delivered in 24 hours for less money.
