Brief Description:  Cabling up the heater door

Last stage was to hook up the heater cable so that it pulls the heater door open. I puzzled over this for a while. If I trimmed the cable as per the plans the door would not open fully. I could not find any configuration where the door would open fully, so I resorted to the internet.

Seems it's only supposed to open as far as 90 degrees to the radiator. So some heat will be deflected elsewhere. Given that, the plans are indeed correct. Picture 1 is a shot looking along the cable from underneath the engine, looking right to left. The door is closed.

In the remaining time I put some pulled rivets in the right hand cockpit panel to secure the map box. Without thinking, I opened the map box door which dropped the back of the camlock behind the panel (which was closed up). I did not notice and pulled two rivets that went nowhere. I'll now have to open up behind the panel, rescue the camlock and drill out the rivets. These ones are a real pain, they just whizz round in the hole when you try to drill 'em out. Just what I need in the panel :-( Work for another day, when I get some more rivets.
