Brief Description:  More prop work

Higher priority family activities have disrupted the build schedule over the past week or so. Our daughter could not decide whether to deliver a new grandchild or not. Eventually nature won out and we now have a grandson, to make a "pigeon pair". Back to building...

I took all of the tail parts to the painter today - two trips. Just managed to get the tailplane in the car with seats folded.

Picture 1 shows the spinner from the side. The plans seem to indicate that there should be four holes in the spinner bulkhead. Not so. I therefore decided to dismantle the prop to drill the holes.

Picture 2 shows a second attempt at centreing the spinner, after reassembly. Not so easy this time - must have been beginners luck before. On reflection, I could probably have drilled the spinner and bulkhead in situ. I thought the bulkhead was steel - turns out it was aluminium.

Picture 3 shows one of the two pieces rescued from the propeller blade cutout, and used to back fill behind the prop. A lot of work here, for no obvious benefit. I don't see any other Rotax-engined aircraft with this level of "dressing".

Last job today was another leak test of the fuel tank. Yes, it leaks... Wow, I'm up to 1400 hours now. What happened to the 600-900 hours build?
