This kit provides nav lights in the wing-tips, a landing light in the starboard wing leading edge, and an interior light. All lights are LED units for low power consumption, as the Rotax is not supplied with auxiliary power-generation. The kit can be readily retro-fitted. The electrical contacts in the wing-roots of the base kit are designed for lighting, so this option does not detract from the wing-removal facility.
I ordered the kit, after I had completed the wings, so I went down the retro-fit route without any significant difficulty. Having said that, I have not fitted the interior light which requires two wires to be fed from the roll bar area to the instrument panel area. This is a pain in a completed aircraft. If you are unsure whether to fit the kit I would strongly recommend laying these two wires while undertaking the rest of the wiring. Cost and effort would be minimal at that time.
