I blew $1300 on a lighting kit. The strobes will be a good safety feature. The landing light is useful for busy flyins, and landing at big airports. The navigation lights and interior light are only for night-flying, which I cannot legally do with a Day-VFR plane. Indeed, I may not bother installing the interior light, as this means feeding wires through the fuselage, a job I'd rather avoid.
First up is installation of the left wing nav/strobe lights.
Picture 1 shows the hole I made with my new Dremel, using a paper template. Finished with a file and scotchbrite. The wee hole at the side is for an earth-strap. I'll need to sand off some primer for conductivity.
Picture 2 shows the fibreglass extension clecod on. Once I had figured that you need to trim off the top flange, it fitted fine. (Note the wing is upside-down). I had to prime the area under the extension, something I had not thought about beforehand.
