Brief Description:  Connect forward and aft stabilitor cables

Dentist appointment, followed by a mammoth internet session ordering fibreglass stuff for the canopy which took up most of today. In the remaining time I finished off wiring up the stabilitor cables. Actually, not strictly true as the stabilitor is not installed at this stage.

First job was to "fix" the forward cables. These were routed correctly under the pulleys but crossed over when routing through the bulkheads. I'm pleased I spotted this. Pushing the stick to rotate for takeoff would not be obvious in the remaining 300 meters before the accident. You would think that the design would prevent Murphy from doing something so obviously wrong...

Next step was to route the aft cables from the rear bulkhead to join up with the forward cables in the centre section. Again I had installed strings to facilitate. The two sections are now joined with turnbuckles, which will be adjusted later. I have put coathanger wire between the aft ends of the cables to stop them falling back into the tailcone.

My friendly maintenance outfit at Scone has a cable tensiometer which I can use, in due course, to adjust the cable tension. I even got a demo on how to use it.
